At the beginning of April 2022, I attended the sewing camp at Zuleeg in Helmbrechts. I'm a repeat offender, and I will definitely do it again.

 I first visited Zuleeg last September. I already knew the fabrics and was impressed by their professional quality. These are fabrics you find in high-quality purchased clothing in stores. With these fabrics, you can sew chic garments for yourself that you truly enjoy wearing and wear for a long time. That was important to me. Now I could see the fabrics in all their variety and beauty, and most importantly, feel them.

 But it's not just the great fabrics that make the Zuleeg experience special. It's everything around it. The organization is superb, and everyone is so kind and caring. You arrive and immediately feel at home. Steffi, Funda, and Miriam are so warm and attentive, trying to fulfill every wish. The catering is simply fantastic, and I've never seen anyone leave hungry. Last time, there was a vegan, and of course, Funda baked a vegan cake. Every participant receives attention.

The factory tour is very interesting. I've been there twice now and discovered many new things again. Learning about such professional fabric production, the many big and small steps involved, is truly impressive and left the participants amazed.

 Sewing then takes place in a beautiful old factory hall, which was lovingly renovated last year. There's plenty of space for cutting, sewing, ironing, exchanging ideas, and relaxing in a cozy seating area. Many sewers bring self-made items that you can look at and even try on. I find this very nice, for example, because often you don't know beforehand if a pattern suits you, which fabric is suitable, what the fit is like, if the size is right, etc.

 On Saturday, there was an after-sew party. We were all just girls, but we still danced exuberantly. Funda mixed cocktails, and there was some more time to chat and get to know each other.

 That's the best part - we all share this wonderful hobby and passion for sewing, and that always gets the conversation going. Even if you go to the sewing camp alone, you won't stay alone. There are so many topics and things to talk about, and you realize that sewing really connects people. When I was there last September, I met dear sewing friends - Anja and Angelika. We always kept in touch and talked about sewing projects as well as private and personal matters. I met Anja again in April, and I hope to meet Angelika again at Zuleeg in Helmbrechts this year.

 Sometimes I've thought about going somewhere else. But my time is limited, and with the great Zuleeg team, everything just fits – organization with so much love, a super nice sewing atmosphere, great conversations, mutual exchange, plenty of time for undisturbed sewing, lots of high-quality fabrics, and this wonderful warmth. So I will definitely make my way to Helmbrechts again this year.

 Finally, I also don't want to forget to mention that Villa Weiß, where everyone always stays, is also beautiful. And if you arrive on Thursday, everything is a bit more relaxed, and you even have some time to visit the Textile Museum in Helmbrechts.

 All of this makes the Zuleeg sewing camp a real sewing event for me, and Steffi already has new ideas for the next sewing events. I'm looking forward to it.
